Natural gas vehicle (NGV)
NGV (Natural Gas for Vehicles) is an alternative vehicle fuel that uses compressed natural gas (CNG) as a cleaner alternative transportation. It can be used in all types of transportation applications including vehicles, buses, trucks, cranes, vans, and also in forklifts.
NGV is safe: NGV’s properties make it a safer fuel. It is lighter than air, and hence rapidly disperses into the atmosphere in the event of leakage. It has a very specific fuel-to-air ignition ratio that minimizes the potential for flare-up. It also is neither toxic nor corrosive posing no health risks when handled. The storage cylinder used is stronger than a gasoline fuel tank and has been subjected to a number of tests for resistance heat and pressure extremes, gunfire, collisions and fire. NGV also has a narrow range of flammability making it much safer than other fuels.
